This Week in Trailers XX
Slow week, but not horrible at least. First up we have the trailer for Role Model’s, followed by Appaloosa and Winged Creatures. And finally the trailer for The Informers which I guess is based on a Bret Easton Ellis novel. Some decent looking films, they aren’t blockbusters but I’ll definetly be checking out a couple of them.
Role Models
Did I see Ken Jeong? that is almost reason enough to see this. It’s a somewhat old concept but the characters are fresh and the dialogue is pretty funny. Not to mention a pretty awesome cast. I’m also glad to see Sean William Scott able to do comedy without it devolving into just another stifler clone. Seems like a good film, maybe even worth seeing in theaters.
Appaloosa
I love a good western and this looks like an amazing one. It has a phenomenal cast which rivals any other western of the past few years – and a much better one. The plot sounds wicked and it sets up for some very cool gunfights and back and forth dialogue. I’m excited about this and will definetly see it in theaters when it comes out.
Winged Creatures
I am actually surprised at how little I want to see this film. It’s not often when that happens since most movies at least have something interesting (apart from Horror I guess) but I just can’t connect with this. The cast is good – though Kate Beckinsale doesn’t look nearly as good as a blond – but that’s not enough to warrant seeing the film. Also I hardly recognized Dakota Fanning, maybe now she won’t be annoying and we can expect decent films from her.
The Informers
The intro was pretty good, awesome song and the shots were all very 80’s. As for the movie itself, it’s hard to say if it will do well. Since it’s a crime drama it could conceivably be set at any time, and the 80’s are both too far back to be modern and too recent to be considered “period”. Nothing apart from the song really appealed to me, it looks cool it just doesn’t really grab me as interesting.
