This Week in Trailers XI

Not the best week, but its not all horrible. It just seems to be overly slow as far as interesting trailers go. We have a short teaser for the Madagascar sequel – Madagascar Escape 2 Africa – as well as a the trailer for a documentary all about Hunter S. Thompson, complete with Johnny Depp. Then we have a very good looking trailer for the movie Boy A, and finally the horrible looking Marley and Me.

Madagascar Escape 2 Africa

That song got old after the first movie came out so I’m really hoping they don’t make a huge deal of it this time around. The jokes were pretty funny though, I liked the little ferret thing dressed as a girl and the expressions of his friends. And I did enjoy the first film so this may end up being entertaining.

Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

Hunter S. has had a crazy life – one that is definetly interesting – and I’m sure it would make for a very good documentary. I’ll probably watch this when I get a chance but as is the case with most documentary’s lately, I tend to keep pushing them off in order to watch theatrical releases.

Boy A

This looks extremely good. The story grabbed me right off the bat, the characters looked interesting, and it looked fairly well shot. This is a film that I will definetly be keeping my eye on and I hope to see it show up soon. It looks fairly dark and dramatic which could put off some people but overall I think it has enough to draw in some decent crowds.

Marley and Me

Now this just looks absolutely horrible. I would call it trash but that may be putting it lightly. From the overused and cheesy music, to the horrible slow motion dialogue I was completely put off. Not to mention that the teaser gives absolutely no indication what this movie is about except a guy and a girl, and their dog – at first glance I would even assume them to be a couple but I found out that they are brother and sister.
